Martial Arts Knights’ Order. (M.A.K.O.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to build strong moral character in our youth through martial arts. We provide a program that replaces many missing elements in our students’ lives by offering a mentoring role model, a greater chance to succeed in reaching their goals, and developing discipline through physical & mental conditioning. Most importantly, MAKO gives our students hope for their futures and an opportunity to believe in themselves.
Grandmaster Hernando Pinilla is the founder and owner of Martial Arts Knights’ Order (M.A.K.O.). He has over 44 years of experience in the Martial Arts and art of self-defense, As a Taekwondist is a recognized Black Bell by Kuk Ki Won with No. 05003828 and presented his last test for 7th Dan – Black Bell – on February 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada during the USA International Open. Master Pinilla was certified as an International TKD Referee in Stuttgart, Germany in October 1979 during the 4th World Taekwondo Championship. In 1983 he officiated in the 6th World TKD Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark and Former Referee Chairman of Texas State Taekwondo Association.
Driven by his mission found “M.A.K.O.” – spain – in 1991 under Spanish Laws in Barcelona, Spain and then refound and register in Texas, USA – Martial Arts Knights’ Order. “M.A.K.O.” -with USA-Taekwondo in 2005.
Martial Arts Knights Order is an organization that works on integral development for one self without age restriction, gender, religion, or race. It is focused on the paths of Martial Arts. Its members practice different styles of Martial Arts and participate in local, national, and international tournaments. The Knights of M.A.K.O have different grades depending on their knowledge and age in which there are 32 grades. This organization is divided by eight Octanates (32 Octants) that group four regions of the world. Level 2 is currently the highest level of coaching certification that coaches can attain through the USA Taekwondo Coach Identification & Development Program (CIDP).
